Quote from a buyer: "Your pictures touch us." That is exactly what I want. I want to touch you with my paintings.

When painting I do not follow any idea, sometimes a color combination, mostly just intuition. So in each work is also a lot of me - emotions, experiences, energies. Sometimes lightness, sometimes heaviness. Sometimes powerful or diffuse, sometimes clear, bright or blurred. It is important to me that a statement remains, not everything is completely dissolved. Abstract yes, but not completely detached from the form. Thus arise their own worlds, landscapes, beings, people.

To be able to see, one must enter the picture. This is not possible with a short scan, it requires a closer look and immersion.

Not only the art, but also the "trappings" seem to be relevant in our time. Therefore, here briefly the most formative points in my life and my artistic development.

I was born in 1969 in Wertheim, a small, very pretty medieval town on the Main and Tauber, grew up in a loving family, mom, dad, my brother, many aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, friends. There was always something going on and the door was wide open for everyone. In English you would say "openminded", which pretty much sums up my growing into life.

I graduated as a communications specialist and since 2008 I have been working as an online marketing freelancer and artist.

At school I drew my teachers in class, then at home I drew posters and postcards of James Dean, that's how it all started. Maybe the genes were not completely innocent, because my grandpa was very active artistically, painted, played several musical instruments and gave accordion lessons (that's how he met my grandma). Music - I learned to play the guitar - didn't grab me as much as painting.

Who paints
how what why?

When my brother died in a traffic accident in 2004, painting was my anchor and escape into another world. The painting time became more intense ...

I then "got out" of my everyday life every now and then and have developed technique and expression in various seminars and courses in abstract acrylic painting, composition, surface structures, with outstanding artists such as Matthias Dietze in Munich or Alexander Jeanmaire at the Academy of Fine Arts Bad Reichenhall. In 2017 I took the course "Classical Drawing and Painting" at the Akthof Munich, where I worked intensively for several months with portrait and nude drawing, oil and watercolor, still life and perspective drawing.

In between there were now and then sidesteps to the wood linoleum cut, sculpture and ceramics. Wood plays a role in my paintings, whether as a painting ground or picture component. I like working with wood.

Meanwhile, I'm switching more and more from acrylic to gouache paints, mainly for environmental reasons. I still hope for colors based on natural raw materials such as vegetable and fruit waste (there is actually a young StartUp from Sweden), but that will probably still take time. Experimenting with colors, materials, painting surfaces, painting tools always brings excitement - and it is extremely easy for me to adjust to new things and create.

My studio is currently in Munich-Forstenried, after I was in Neuhausen, Sendling and Lake Starnberg. Since 2011, I participate every year in the Open Studio Days "Art in Sendling" and am a member of the artist association in Munich-Sendling. In 2011 I had a joint exhibition "Naturen" with Katharina Happ, 2019 in the gallery EigenART in Munich-Schwabing.

So far, so good. We will see what else follows ...
